Attitudes and Movements (Ex 5) - Saturday, September 11, 2010
Although I had a brief introductory lesson (more of a tour, really) in July, my first formal lesson centred around Attitudes and Movements (Exercise 5 in the Transport Canada Flight Manual).
After a thorough ground briefing on transfer of control, and pitch, roll and yaw, my flight instructor took me outside to walk around the aircraft, a Cessna 150. Then, we got into the plane, she taxied us out to the runway, and I taxied to the runway in preparation for take off.
Checklists abound in flight school, and so we went through the pre-take-off checklist, then I actually took off, holy crap!!!
Once in the air, Tatiana demonstrated pitch, roll and yaws, following which I had to repeat same. Then, she put the plane out of cruise attitude, and I had to "correct" it.
